I’ve finally managed to put together a CV [alternate formats]. My resume was about four years out of date and a curriculum vitae seems all the rage on the job-talk circuit. Apparently the word curriculum has its roots in circus or race course. I guess that would make me either a clown or jockey.
Writing a CV finally gave me a chance to dig into DocBook. I hope to use it to manage my dissertation. My master’s thesis was laid out using Adobe InDesign. While I liked the final product, the process (involving many unhandled exceptions) was rather frustrating. I figure with XML and DocBook at least I’ll get an informative error message.
