Affective Sensors, Privacy, and Ethical Contracts

Recently Rosalind Picard and myself have been considering the role of ethics has in the design of perceptual or affective computers. Our first approach to this is detailed in Affective Sensors, Privacy, and Ethical Contracts, which was accepted for presentation at CHI 2004. While somewhat formative, this line of analysis has also shown itself to be somewhat timely. Expect more on this front soon.
