Interaction Styles are the topic of the next chapter in Developing User Interfaces. The chapter details the look (appearance) and feel( behavior) of various objects and techniques. A long taxonomy of various UI widgets and guidelines that can be applied to them follows. Because this is only partially relevant to Usability Testing I will not summarize that here.
Of some interest is the “Dynamic Menu” widget. This might be considered adaptive because it’s behavior varies w/r/t the user’s current state.
